Tropicaldream was created with one simple idea at heart: to make women feel comfortable, beautiful and sexy all at once. Not for anyone else. For herself.

We believe there is something incredibly powerful about feeling good in your own skin. About dressing for yourself, listening to what you want, and creating a life that feels true to you.

Born from the relaxed lifestyle of Byron Bay, Tropicaldream creates feminine pieces inspired by both the coast and the countryside, warm days, salty skin, slow mornings, country roads, hinterland escapes and spontaneous adventures. From days by the ocean to afternoons in the hinterland, our pieces are made to feel beautiful, comfortable and easy to live in.

We also keep mums in mind when designing our collections. We want our pieces to work for real, everyday life, comfortable enough for busy days, while still making you feel feminine and beautiful.

But feeling good in what we wear also means caring about how it was made. That is why conscious production has been part of Tropicaldream from the very beginning. We believe beautiful clothing shouldn't come at the expense of the people who make it or the world we live in.

We aren't perfect, and sustainability is an ongoing journey. But with every collection, we aim to make thoughtful choices, from ethical production and natural fabrics to considered quantities, plastic-free packaging and finding ways to minimise fabric waste.

ETHICALLY MADE

Behind every Tropicaldream garment are real people, real hands and many hours of craftsmanship.

From the beginning, one of our biggest priorities has been working with people who share our values and creating long-term relationships rather than simply searching for the cheapest way to manufacture clothing.

Our collections are ethically produced in Bali by Fatimah and her talented family and team of experienced makers.

Fatimah has become a very special part of the Tropicaldream story. Together, we have built a close working relationship over the years, bringing Emmely's designs from Byron Bay to life through their incredible craftsmanship and knowledge.

The head tailor has more than 25 years of experience in pattern making, garment construction and sewing techniques, skills that have been developed and perfected over decades. We believe the people behind our clothing matter just as much as the clothing itself.

By choosing Tropicaldream, you aren't simply purchasing another piece of clothing. You're supporting a small Australian brand, skilled makers, Bali families and a more personal way of producing fashion.

And for that, we are incredibly grateful.

CONSCIOUSLY CREATED

For us, sustainability isn't about claiming to be perfect.

It's about being conscious of the choices we make and continuously looking for ways to do better.

Where possible, we choose beautiful natural and natural-based fabrics such as cotton, linen and viscose blends. We love these fabrics not only for how they look, but for how they feel against the skin, breathable, soft and perfect for the coastal lifestyle that inspires Tropicaldream.

We focus on creating pieces that don't belong to one season or one trend. Pieces you can reach for year after year, take travelling, throw over swimwear, dress up for dinner and wear again and again.

We also produce thoughtfully rather than following the traditional fast-fashion cycle of constantly releasing huge quantities of new clothing.

Our goal is simple: create beautiful pieces, make conscious choices and keep improving along the way.

FABRICS & THOUGHTFUL MATERIALS

Fabric is one of the most important parts of every Tropicaldream design.

We want our clothing to feel beautiful on your body, which is why we are naturally drawn to breathable, soft and comfortable fabrics. Across our collections, we prioritise natural and natural-based fibres such as cotton, linen and viscose, while continuing to explore better fabric choices as the brand evolves.

For us, it's not only about how a garment looks when you first put it on. It's about how it moves with you, how it feels against your skin and whether it becomes one of those special pieces you keep reaching for.

Because the most sustainable wardrobe is ultimately one filled with pieces you genuinely love and want to wear again and again.

EVERY ORDER PLANTS A TREE

We feel incredibly lucky to call this beautiful planet home, and giving something back has always been important to us.

That's why every Tropicaldream order helps plant a tree. It's a small action attached to every purchase, but together those small actions can grow into something much bigger.

Every order becomes another little contribution towards a greener future. 🌱

COMPOSTABLE MAILERS

We also think carefully about what happens after your Tropicaldream order leaves us.

Instead of traditional plastic shipping satchels, we use compostable mailers made from plant-based and certified compostable materials. Our mailers feature a double adhesive strip, meaning they can even be reused for another shipment before being composted.

It's one of the many small ways we're trying to reduce unnecessary plastic and make more thoughtful choices throughout the Tropicaldream journey.

RECYCLED ECO PACKAGING

We use recycled eco tissue wrapping paper made from 99.9% recycled content to carefully wrap your Tropicaldream pieces. Once you've opened your parcel, and hopefully had a little ooooh moment, the paper can be reused, recycled or composted.

Because even the little details matter.

TURNING OFFCUTS INTO SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

Creating clothing inevitably creates fabric offcuts, so we are always looking for ways to give those leftover pieces another purpose. One of our favourite solutions? 

Scrunchies. ♡

Instead of letting beautiful leftover fabric go to waste, we transform suitable offcuts into Tropicaldream scrunchies. It's a small thing, but we love seeing the same fabrics from our collections given another life.

And as an added bonus, fabric scrunchies are beautifully soft on your hair and much harder to lose than those mysterious little black hair ties that somehow disappear from our lives every few months.

FROM OUR DREAM TO YOURS

Tropicaldream started as exactly that, a dream.

A dream inspired by Byron Bay, sunshine, freedom, femininity and a desire to create something meaningful. Today, every collection is still created with those same values at heart. To make women feel beautiful. To work with good people. To choose beautiful, considered fabrics. To create consciously. And to keep learning how we can do things better.
